Personally

Privacy Policy

Effective January 1, 2025

Personally is a service of Momentous Growth LLC (“Personally,” “we,” “us”). It lets nonprofits thank their donors with a short message in their leader’s voice, recreated with AI, delivered as a voicemail or as an email with a link to listen. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

Visitors to this website

This website has no analytics, advertising trackers or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.

If you apply to be a founding partner, we keep what you enter in the form (your name, email, organization, role and details about your program) so we can reply and follow up. We delete it when you ask.

Customers who sign in to the Personally app get one sign-in cookie that keeps them signed in. It is not used for tracking.

Nonprofit customers

When an organization uses Personally, we collect:

  • Account and organization details: names, email addresses and phone numbers of staff, and the organization’s legal name, address, website, tax identification number and callback number. Phone carriers require some of these to register who is sending messages.
  • Billing details. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
  • The thank-you message the organization writes, its approvals, and its settings.

The voice owner

Each organization chooses one person, usually its leader, whose voice donors hear. We call this person the signer.

  • Consent first. Before recording, the signer reads a consent statement, checks a box and types their name. We store that consent with the recording. We create a voice model only after it is given.
  • What we keep. The signer’s recording of about three minutes, any short recordings of the signer saying a donor’s name to fix its pronunciation, the voice model made from them, and the audio files rendered with it.
  • Use limits. The voice model speaks only thank-you messages that the organization writes and approves. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not share it with other customers.
  • Deletion. When the signer or the organization asks, or when the account closes, we delete the recordings, the voice model and the audio made from it within 30 days.

Donors, on behalf of nonprofits

When a nonprofit connects its giving platform to Personally or uploads a spreadsheet, we receive information about each gift: the donor’s first name, phone number, email address, gift amount and date, whether the donor agreed to receive a voicemail, the consent wording shown and when it was given, and related details such as whether the gift is recurring or a tribute.

We process this information only to send that nonprofit’s thank-you messages and to report results to it, under the nonprofit’s instructions. The nonprofit controls this information, and its own privacy policy governs its relationship with its donors. We also record whether a voicemail was delivered and whether a message was played on its listen page.

A donor receives a voicemail only if they gave a mobile number and agreed on the donation form to receive one. Otherwise they receive an email with a link to listen. Each listen page says the message was spoken in the leader’s voice, recreated with AI, with permission. Messages never ask for anything.

How we use information

  • To create, check and deliver thank-you messages the organization has approved or allowed to send.
  • To check that a phone number is a mobile number before we leave a voicemail, and to send only during daytime hours.
  • To honor opt-outs and to send no more than one thank-you per donor per organization in 30 days.
  • To show the organization what was sent and how thanked donors compare with a small group who were not thanked.
  • To run, secure, support and bill for the service, and to comply with law and phone carrier rules.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use donor information for our own marketing.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the providers that help us run Personally, and only as needed for their part of the work:

  • Cloudflare, for hosting and storage.
  • ElevenLabs, to create voice models, render audio and transcribe rendered audio to check it.
  • Drop Cowboy and the phone carriers it uses, to deliver voicemails.
  • Twilio, to check whether a phone number is a mobile number.
  • Google, to turn a short recording of how a name is said into a written spelling.
  • Stripe, to process payments.
  • Resend, to send email.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Mobile information

We do not share mobile phone numbers or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share mobile information only with the providers that deliver our messages, as described above.

Stopping messages

One opt-out stops both voicemails and emails from that organization. A donor can use the opt-out link in any email or on any listen page, call the number given in the voicemail, tell the organization, or email us at jeff@momentousgrowth.com. When a donor replies STOP or withdraws consent through our voicemail provider, we apply it automatically.

How long we keep information

  • Donor gift records: for as long as the organization uses Personally and for 12 months after it leaves, then deleted, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
  • Voice recordings, voice models and rendered audio: deleted within 30 days of a request or of account closure.
  • Opt-out records: for as long as needed to honor them.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, and providers that run their own security programs. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify affected customers as the law requires.

Children

This website and Personally are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your requests

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing jeff@momentousgrowth.com. If we hold it on behalf of a nonprofit, we will pass your request to that nonprofit and help it respond.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will also tell our customers by email.
